Katherine Herzog was born in Austria, one of two of Roseta and Abraham Herzog’s known children. In 1837 she married Sigismund Kronberg, and their only daughter, Caroline, was born in Austria in 1844. Three years later Sigismund died, and in 1857 Katherine and Caroline would emigrate to New York. In 1866 Caroline married Morris Goldstone, also a German Jewish immigrant, and together they had eight children.
