Martha Levy

Martha Levy and her sister Henrietta were the daughters of Mary Pearce and Judge Moses Levy. Their father was a very successful judge and lawyer, and the girls grew up in the highest rungs of Philadelphia’s Protestant elite. Although they were the great granddaughters of Moses Levy, among the founders of American Jewry, this branch of the Levy family had been Episcopalian for several generations.
