Daughter of metal manufacturer Harmon Hendricks and Frances Isaacs Hendricks, Hannah was raised in New York among nearly a dozen siblings, including Uriah, Henry, and Hermione. In 1846, she married Benjamin Seixas Hart, son of Col. Bernard and Rebecca Birley Hart. They raised their six children in New York.
