Brothers Benjamin Frederick and Isaac Moses, Jr. were part of the illustrious Moses family of New York. Their parents were Joshua, a merchant involved in the East India trade, and Sarah Rodriguez Brandon Moses, and their siblings included Israel, Lionel, Abraham and Joseph, Isaac’s twin brother. Isaac became a lieutenant colonel in the US Army, serving during the Civil War.
