Arabella Solomon was the daughter of London-born Myer Solomon andHyah Bush Solomon. She was the born in Baltimore, where her fatherwas in business and where her aunt ShinahSolomon Etting would soon establish the Baltimore’s reigningJewish family. In 1805 she married ZalegmanPhillips, a distinguished Philadelphia lawyer. She remained inPhiladelphia the rest of her life, involved with congregation MikvehIsrael. Among her eleven children were JonasAltamont Phillips and Henry MayerPhillips.
