Arabella Solomon was the daughter of London-born Myer Solomon and Hyah Bush Solomon. She was the born in Baltimore, where her father was in business and where her aunt Shinah Solomon Etting would soon establish the Baltimore’s reigning Jewish family. In 1805 she married Zalegman Phillips, a distinguished Philadelphia lawyer. She remained in Philadelphia the rest of her life, involved with congregation Mikveh Israel. Among her eleven children were Jonas Altamont Phillips and Henry Myer Phillips.
