Fanny Aub was born in Forchheim, Bavaria, Germany in 1818. She was the daughter of Samuel Rindskopf. Fanny married Abraham Aub, who was also in immigrant from Bavaria, Germany. Together, she and Abraham had five children, Samuel, Joseph, Harriet, Theresa, and Bella. The Aubs were very active in the Jewish community of Cincinnati and were generous philanthropists in its behalf. Fanny and her husband, Abraham, were founders of and donated the land for Cincinnati’s Jewish Hospital in 1865, the first Jewish hospital in the US. The Aubs also made significant gifts to the building campaign for Plum Street Temple. Fanny Aub died in Cincinnati in 1880 at the age of 61.
