Isaac Loewengardtwas born in Laudenbach, Bavaria, and immigrated to the United Statesin 1866, at the age of 19. He settled in New Orleans where he workedas a silversmith. There he married AmeliaScooler,daughter of Maurice Scooler, also a German immigrant silversmith aswell as an importer. They had ten children.
