Julia Levy Solomons

Julia Levy was born in New York, the daughter of Simeon and Hetty Levy and sister of Miriam and Benjamin Levy. In 1817, Julia married John Solomons, an immigrant from London who helped produce the New York Courier and Enquirer. They had four children, including Adolphus and Mary Jane. After her husband’s death, Julia joined Adolphus in Washington, D.C., where she died in 1862.
