Marcus Salomon Samson lived most of his life in Paramaribo, Suriname, a hub in the Atlantic world of Sephardi trade. He was the son of Judith Gomperts and Salomon Marcus Samson, husband of Judith Benjamin de Vries Samson, and father of seven children.
